The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Gang Unit seized dozens of high-powered weapons and arrested 11 menathree of them Bell Gardens residentsaon Sept. 24; they face federal charges for trafficking weapons and drugs following a nine month investigation.

Two Bell Gardens half-brothers, Henry a?Silenta? Valenzuela, 37, Sergio a?Lil Silenta? Calderon, 23, and their stepfather, Javier a?Padrastroa? Avila Lopez, 49 of Watts, are identified as heads of a?Barrio Evil 13a? in a sworn affidavit by a federal ICE agent.

An undocumented immigrant and Bell Gardens resident, Everado a?Laloa? Venegas-Lumbreras, 38, was also arrested. He was allegedly a a?runnera? for Lopez and transported and delivered narcotics and firearms. Lumbrerasa has an outstanding deportation order dating back to 1999.

The investigation is part of an ongoing initiative by ICEas National Gang Unit, a?Operation Community Shield,a? which investigates transnational street gangs conducting crime in the U.S. and other countries, according to an ICE statement and the affidavit.

Dozens of high-powered weapons, including assault rifles, handguns, silencers, a shotgun and thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized at four locations where search warrants were served, federal officials said.

The affidavit listed Valenzuelaas home in the 6600 block of Ajax Avenue, Calderonas residence in the 5800 block of Gage Avenue and a warehouse in the 7500 block of Scout Ave. where additional illegal weapons were found, according to Dixon.

ICE Spokesperson Virginia Kice told EGP that the gang is based in South Los Angeles, a?but several of the members do currently reside in Bell Gardens.a?

According to the affidavit, Valenzuela claimed to be a hit-man for a Tijuana Cartel and said he had been paid $15,000 for a a?hita? in Barstow, California on Sept. 2. He also allegedly tried to recruit an undercover investigator to carry out a?hitsa? in the Los Angeles area for $5,000 to $10,000. Valenzuela said he had six more murders-for-hire in Los Angeles still to carry out.

Valenzuela has a criminal record dating back to 1999 that includes arrests for vandalism and possession of a controlled substance. He was charged in 2007 with assault with a deadly weapon, but was not convicted.

His younger half-brother, Calderon, was acquitted of the same assault charge. In 2003 he was arrested by Vernon police for vandalism, but was not convicted, according to the affidavit.

Valenzuela and Caldronas stepfather, Lopez, was arrested in 1999 for Shooting at a Dwelling, and later convicted of Discharging a Firearm in Public.

Lopez allegedly told an informant that he smuggled undocumented immigrants and made frequent trips to Mexico to escort a?load vehiclesa? across the border. He said he charged $2,500 per person.
The three men are accused of acquiring and distributing narcotics (cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine) and firearms in Los Angeles and Bell Gardens.

a?The gang members and associates charged in this criminal complaint are alleged to have trafficked not just in drugs, but in weapons, and not just any weapons, but weapons clearly intended for criminal conduct, including an AK-47 assault rifle, a Tec-9 sub-machinegun, a MAC-11 sub-machinegun, and a sawed-off shotgun,a? said Acting U.S. Attorney George S. Cardona in a statement. a?The arrests made yesterday eliminate a source of firearms that would otherwise be out on the streets being used to commit additional violent crimes.a?

Also arrested and facing federal charges for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, including heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana are: Eduardo Ortega-Plascencia, 39, an undocumented immigrant residing in East Los Angeles; Margarito a?Titoa? Enciso, 27, of Long Beach; and Silverio Palma-Carlin, 31, of Jalisco, Mexico. Two other men have also been arrested on state drug trafficking charges: Francisco Arellano, 32, and Alfredo Rutillo-Medina, 27, both of Nayarit, Mexico, according to ICE.

If convicted, the maximum possible penalty for the charges is life in prison, according to ICE.

An ICE spokesperson, Virginia Kice, told EGP the gang is based in South Los Angeles, a?but several of the members do currently reside in Bell Gardens.a?

Bell Police Department Detective Terry Dixon, who assisted in the investigation and carrying out the search warrants, said a?Barrio Evil 13a? is a new gang in Bell Gardens. It is believed the gang members have moved there, and did not sprout from the community, he said. The Bell Police Department has a part-time field officer who assists ICEas Gang Unit, he told EGP.

a?Thatas all weare targeting, gangs,a? Dixon told EGP. a?Weare not targeting a?average Joea citizens.a?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Los Angeles County Sheriffas Department; the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services; and officers from the Bell, Huntington Park, Vernon and Long Beach police departments assisted in the

I've seen videos and pictures of ar15s that have suppressor looking devices on the front of their firearms, but when you hear thm fired, theyre not suppressed at all. Are they just fake suppressors or is there some other device you can put on the barrel that i've just never heard of. Thank you!

They passed a law, signed by the Governor and going into effect this October 1, that any firearm, or firearm accessory, manufactured in the State of Montana, sold in the State of Montana, and maintained within the State boundaries of Montana, is NOT SUBJECT TO FEDERAL REGULATION.

Already companies are tooling up to manufacture rifles, silencers, and everything imaginable for firearms.

At the signing, the Governor wanted to be "VERY CLEAR" that this was a State issue, and that if ANY Federal agent (ATF or FBI) attempted to enforce Federal Law over Montana Law, within the State of Montana, those agents would be arrested by Montana agents, tried in Montana courts, and held in Montana prisons for the duration of their sentences.

And the Fed has been silent.

October 1 will be very interesting.

Do you applaud Montana's efforts, and their reassertion that the Constitution provides for State Sovereignty on almost ALL issues?
Memo to Culture Warrior:

You're not paying attention. Montana's contention (and they are correct) is that the Constitution reserves this right for the States, and they are claiming it. Read the 10th Amendment, that is the basis for their argument, and this legislation. And it will be used by several other States if Montana is successful in this instance (and I believe they will be, as I believe the Fed will acquiesce because they know they will be on the unpopular side of this debate on States' Rights).
Incidentally, I'm not a Montanan, but I have always wanted to be, and may be one day :)

Does anyone have any personal experiences to share about purchasing a Class III firearm or silencer. I've researched it thoroughly but want to here how the process works from somebody that has actually done it so i can know what to expect in the future.

Again, im asking for individuals to elaborate on what they had to go through to legally purchase a Class III firearm (machine gun) from a class III dealer. thanks

I collect alot of weapons and was wondering where I could purchase a 9 mm with silencer cap and laser sight pointer, I don't know where to start looking, I know these places do exist, can anybody help me?

Way to go Montana!!!!!!

You can googlea.new Montana gun law for a check

Looks like we have a Constitutional challenge.

Montana Governor Signs New Gun Law Executive Summary

The USA state of Montana has signed into power a
revolutionary gun law. I mean REVOLUTIONARY. The State of
Montana has defied the federal government and their gun
laws. This will prompt a showdown between the federal
government and the State of Montana. The federal government
fears citizens owning guns. They try to curtail what types
of guns they can own. The gun control laws all have one
common goal - confiscation of privately owned firearms.

Montana has gone beyond drawing a line in the sand.
They have challenged the Federal Government. The fed
now either takes them on and risks them saying the federal
agents have no right to violate their state gun
laws and arrest the federal agents that try to enforce the
federal firearms acts. This will be a world-class event to
watch.

Montana could go to voting for secession from the union,
which is really throwing the gauntlet in Obama's face.
If the federal government does nothing they lose face.

Gotta love it.

Important Points -

If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State
of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the
federal firearms laws have no applicability since the
federal government only has the power to control commerce
across state lines.

Montana has the law on their side. Since when did the USA
start following their own laws especially the constitution
of the USA, the very document that empowers the USA.

Silencers made in Montana and sold in Montana would be
fully legal and not registered. As a note silencers were
first used before the 007 movies as a device to enable one
to hunt without disturbing neighbors and scaring game.

They were also useful as devices to control noise when
practicing so as to not disturb the neighbors.

Silencers work best with a bolt-action rifle. There is a
long barrel and the chamber is closed tight so as to direct
all the gases though the silencer at the tip of the barrel.
Semi-auto pistols and revolvers do not really muffle the
sound very well except on the silver screen.

The revolvers bleed gas out with the sound all over the
place. The semi-auto pistols bleed the gases out when the
slide recoils back.

Silencers are maybe nice for snipers picking off enemy
soldiers even though they reduce velocity but not very
practical for hit men shooting pistols in crowded places.
Silencers were useful tools for gun enthusiasts and hunters.

There would be no firearm registration, serial numbers,
criminal records check, waiting periods or paperwork
required. So in a short period of time there would be
millions and millions of unregistered untraceable guns in
Montana.

Discussion-

Let us see what Obama does. If he hits Montana hard they
will probably vote to secede from the USA.

The governor of Texas has already been refusing Federal
money because he does not want to agree to the conditions
that go with it and he has been saying secession is a right
they have as sort of a threat. Things are no longer the
same with the USA.

Do not be deceived by Obama acting as if all is the same,
it is not.

I want to make a FAKE SUPPRESSOR/SILENCER for my ruger 10/22. Plz don't answer if you never had experience or handle real firearms not toy guns and answering stuff like its illegal, dangerous etc. IM NOT TRYING to reduce or muffle the sound plus i know how real silencer's work SO IM NOT TRYING TO BRAKE ANY LAWS. i just want some help on what type of materials i should use like aluminium or steel. jb weld or somthing. and ideas.

p.s i live in florida where the gun laws are not to (CHOKING) strict.

I've been looking for a good, durable and accurate .22 pistol. I'm not too experienced in firearms, so I would want to know if anyone could recommend a good .22 that could fit a silencer on, and is already threaded. I've been looking at a Walther P22, but I'm not completely sure, I've read some reviews, and some have had durability and accuracy issues, I just want to know if these are serious issues :D

Thanks!

I wanted to know if silencers are outlawed period or can people have them; pending certain restrictions or something like that?

in Army and Marine, what units can easily obtain firearm which can be fitted with silencer.
I dont think there is any good for a civilian to own a silencer. it reduces the bullet energy.

2 RULES:
FIREARMS AND ONLY FIREARMS

i would say 50cal sniper rifle and an AK47 w/ scope and silencer attachment

Is expandable baton is prohibited from transporting into airport? What if a person tries to have it on check in baggage, not carry on baggage? I just found a article of law about carrying weapons into airport in VA.

A 18.2-287.01. Carrying weapon in air carrier airport terminal.
It shall be unlawful for any person to possess or transport into any air carrier airport terminal in the Commonwealth any (i) gun or other weapon designed or intended to propel a missile or projectile of any kind, (ii) frame, receiver, muffler, silencer, missile, projectile or ammunition designed for use with a dangerous weapon, and (iii) any other dangerous weapon, including explosives, tasers, stun weapons and those weapons specified in subsection A of A 18.2-308. Any such weapon shall be subject to seizure by a law-enforcement officer. A violation of this section is punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor. Any weapon possessed or transported in violation of this section shall be forfeited to the Commonwealth and disposed of as provided in subsection A of A 18.2-308.
The provisions of this section shall not apply to any police officer, sheriff, law-enforcement agent or official, or game warden, or conservator of the peace employed by the air carrier airport, nor shall the provisions of this section apply to any passenger of an airline who, to the extent otherwise permitted by law, transports a lawful firearm, weapon, or ammunition into or out of an air carrier airport terminal for the sole purposes, respectively, of (i) presenting such firearm, weapon, or ammunition to U.S. Customs agents in advance of an international flight, in order to comply with federal law, (ii) checking such firearm, weapon, or ammunition with his luggage, or (iii) retrieving such firearm, weapon, or ammunition from the baggage claim area.
Any other statute, rule, regulation, or ordinance specifically addressing the possession or transportation of weapons in any airport in the Commonwealth shall be invalid, and this section shall control.
(2004, c. 894.)

A person must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a rifle or shotgun. To purchase a handgun from a licensed firearms dealer, you must be at least 21 years of age, pursuant to federal law. For statutory regulations concerning underage persons possessing firearms, refer to Virginia Code A18.2-308.7, possession or transportation of certain firearms by persons under the age of eighteen.

A 18.2-308.7. Possession or transportation of certain firearms by persons under the age of 18; penalty.

It shall be unlawful for any person under 18 years of age to knowingly and intentionally possess or transport a handgun or assault firearm anywhere in the Commonwealth. For the purposes of this section, "handgun" means any pistol or revolver or other firearm originally designed, made and intended to fire single or multiple projectiles by means of an explosion of a combustible material from one or more barrels when held in one hand and "assault firearm" means any (i) semi-automatic centerfire rifle or pistol which expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material and is equipped at the time of the offense with a magazine which will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition or designed by the manufacturer to accommodate a silencer or equipped with a folding stock or (ii) shotgun with a magazine which will hold more than seven rounds of the longest ammunition for which it is chambered. A violation of this section shall be a Class 1 misdemeanor.

I want to buy a gun that is semi-auto and it doesnt have a threaded barrel, therefore cannot be equipped with a silencer, and has a magazine that holds 10 bullets. base on that context its considered just a rifle correct? which means any 18 year old person can buy it right? but if I purchase a magazine that holds more than 20 it becomes an assault rifle right? so legally if I don't buy a magazine that holds more than 20 bullets before I'm 21, I can legally buy and own the gun as long as it doesnt hold more than 20 bullets?

I am legally a resident of NY and have a CCW in that state, but I am stationed in CA. Would I be able to purchase NFA class 3 weapons, such as silencers and automatic firearms in AZ if I store the firearms in AZ at a gun club or something like that? If so where could I find more information about doing that, such as the process of going about purchasing and where would I be able to store them?

I have seen various web sites with blue prints and instructions to build a railgun as well as a few videos on youtube showing a homemade railgun. I am fairly familiar with US firearm laws, as I had to study a few for a firearms safety class and I know that creating a firearm is illegal unless you have consent. However, under US law (18 U.S.C. 921) a "firearm" is:

(3) (a) - any weapon (including a starter gun) which will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive;

(3) (b) - the frame or receiver of any such weapon;

(3) (c) - any firearm muffler or firearm silencer; or

(3) (d) - any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm.

So, with that definition a railgun is not considered a firearm because it does not use explosive force, it uses electromagnetic force to propel the projectile.

Now, it also says that a "firearm" is "any destructive device" which defined by law under (18 U.S.C. 921) is the following:

(4) (A) - any explosive, incendiary, or poison gasa

(4) (A) (i) - bomb,

(4) (A) (ii) - grenade,

(4) (A) (iii) - rocket having a propellant charge of more than four ounces,

(4) (A) (iv) - missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce,

(4) (A) (v) - mine, or

(4) (A) (iv) - device similar to any of the devices described in the preceding clauses;

(4) (B) - any type of weapon (other than a shotgun or a shotgun shell which the Attorney General finds is generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes) by whatever name known which will, or which may be readily converted to, expel a projectile by the action of an explosive or other propellant, and which has any barrel with a bore of more than one-half inch in diameter; and

(4) (C) any combination of parts either designed or intended for use in converting any device into any destructive device described in subparagraph (A) or (B) and from which a destructive device may be readily assembled.

The term a?destructive devicea? shall not include any device which is neither designed nor redesigned for use as a weapon; any device, although originally designed for use as a weapon, which is redesigned for use as a signaling, pyrotechnic, line throwing, safety, or similar device; surplus ordnance sold, loaned, or given by the Secretary of the Army pursuant to the provisions of section 4684 (2), 4685, or 4686 of title 10; or any other device which the Attorney General finds is not likely to be used as a weapon, is an antique, or is a rifle which the owner intends to use solely for sporting, recreational or cultural purposes.

To me it seems like it would be perfectly legal since a railgun uses electromagnetism as opposed to "explosive force" to propel the projectile and the law only regulates "firearms" which by law only covers a weapon designed to expel a projectile by explosive force...

It just seems like kind of a dangerous thing for someone to be able to legally make with no authorization or consent from a government agency.. Is this really legal?

iv got a sig 556 and was going to buy a silencer but didnt know if they wear out over time and if so how many rounds can u shoot b4 that happens?

Going to be purchasing the full-size HK45 double-action pistol along with a conceal permit. Just a few questions before I make my purchase. This will be for day-to-day concealment and home-defense when in my residence.

What brand name and type of ammo is best for this firearm? Stopping power is key.

I heard of a tactical version of this gun, what does the tactical modification do to the gun and how is it better/worse?

Is there a huge difference in day to day carrying between it and it's smaller counterpart that I would notice?

I have also heard about a recoil insert that reduced the recoil massively, is it already built into the gun or was the recoil I saw in action an add-on?

How much would a flashlight, laser sight, silencer and a x3 ammo pouch with 2 spare magazines run... ballpark? I intend to buy the light/laser/silencer at a later date.

Finally how much would a slim holster with a simple metal button strap cost, do they make them to fit it when the laser/light are attached?

Thanks for your time and help everyone, I am fixing to spend alot of money on this gun so I want to double check my homework before I go to the gun store.

I noticed that a good portion of gun control measure attempt to limit the performance of firearms (limited mag capacities, outright ban on some guns, special applications for silencers, bans on certain type of ammo, etc). I feel that all firearms (everything from single shot rifles to class 3 weapons are dangerous and have the potential to kill. A problem with current gun legislation is that it deprives law abiding citizens of the ability to own certain types of guns that are very effective. Instead of limiting the performance of firearms, wouldn't it be better to make more laws which restrict who can buy guns? Personally, I think it would be good if the government required gun owners to provide fingerprints/facial photos, give dna, take an eye exam, take a psychological evaluation, prove that they can safely store the guns, and have a background check. It would also be better to increase penalties on illegal gun sales and gun crimes. Wouldn't it be better to have this type of gun control system instead of our current system. I think that they should just repeal all gun laws which restrict performance (including the ban of 86 and other laws like that) and replace it with this system. Wouldn't that be even more effective than our current system? Honestly, I think it would be fair for shooting enthusiasts (such as myself and many other people). Criminals will always have the ability to kill (even if they don't have guns). They can always use knives, cars, pipe bombs, etc.
But what if it meant that you could buy fully automatic uzis/other class 3 weapons and armor piercing ammo?

I live in Ohio. The silencers will not be able to be used on lethal firearms due to the fact that the pressure would shatter the silencer. If you need any more info, ask below then ill post it. Thank you in advance for your help.

This may seem a bit strange, but what are the laws regarding silencers and automatic weapons in the state of Pennsylvania, and Arizona or any other part of the southwest?

I understand that automatic weapons are usually illegal, but under what conditions? I say this because some people do have them.

Also, silencers. I was told a few years back that they could be owned/used by civilians with a different class of license. What is that class, or have they been completely banned after 9/11?

I don't no why but some people say airgun are ok to put silencer on even if i lived in USA but not on real firearm without a stamp. I don't get it. I lived in the US in California. Plz help if u Know.

under the national firearms act, silencers and short barrel rifles (any rifle under 16 inches long barrel or under 28 inches total length) are both "title 2" weapons or whatever. both need approval from ATF to own, lotta paperwork, and cost $200 transfer tax or something like that.

so if i shortened the barrel on, say an AK47 with ATF approval, paid my $200 tax, then decided to put a silencer on the same gun, could i get ATF approval for that? also, do i have to pay another $200 for it? is it legal to have a combination of title 2 weapons?

(CNN) -- A Nevada man who reportedly poisoned himself with ricin in his Las Vegas motel room pleaded guilty Monday to possession of a biological toxin, prosecutors said.
Authorities found ricin and an anarchist manual in Roger Von Bergendorff's Nevada hotel room.

Authorities found ricin and an anarchist manual in Roger Von Bergendorff's Nevada hotel room.

Roger Bergendorff, 57, who was hospitalized for two months with suspected ricin poisoning, also pleaded guilty to possession of unregistered firearms.

Ricin is a toxic byproduct of processing castor beans for oil and is capable of killing body cells.

"Used improperly, ricin can be a very dangerous and deadly weapon," said U.S. Attorney Greg Brower in Nevada. "Fortunately, in this case, the ricin is not believed to have caused any harm to the public."

Bergendorff, who was living at the Extended Stay America Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, knowingly possessed ricin in February for an "unjustified purpose," according to court documents.

At the time, Bergendorff also possessed a .22 caliber pistol with an unregistered silencer attached, as well as a second unregistered silencer. Neither of the silencers were registered to Bergendorff, authorities said.

Bergendorff was hospitalized on February 14 complaining of breathing difficulties. Two weeks later, his cousin, Thomas Tholen, 54, of Riverton, Utah, discovered the toxin when he went to recover Bergendorff's belongings from his hotel room.

Authorities also said a search of the room found guns, the book "Anarchist's Cookbook," a collection of instructions on poisons and other dangerous recipes and castor beans, syringes and beakers.

Bergendorff previously lived in Tholen's home. After the discovery of the ricin, the FBI searched the home as well as storage units Bergendorff used in Utah. Authorities said FBI agents searching the storage units found castor beans, chemicals used in the production of ricin, a respirator, filters, laboratory glassware, syringes and a notebook on ricin production.

Tholen has pleaded not guilty to charges he knew his cousin was producing ricin and failed to report it to federal authorities.

Bergendorff is scheduled to be sentenced November 3. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 on each count.

Prosecutors have recommended a sentence of 37 months in prison.

ok i just went to the gun concealment class so i can carry a gun around..but now i want to purchase my gun...and i rather purchase it online rather than searching around for the specific gun that i want... does anyone know any websites where i can purchase my firearm and a silencer for it that has good prices...and is it ok to purchase the firearm and silencer online in the state of florida..thanks in advance

i'm just doing a research on gun laws, may i know how many & which US states are allowed to use firearms with silencers on?
if i remember rightly, it stated that 35 out of 50 states are allowed to use silencers

I'm not talking about the traditional silencer that attaches to the weapon. I'd like to shoot .22's in my basement but, in the enclosed space, even a .22 makes quite a racket.

One of my friends gave me an idea of building a box (approx 2' x 2') filled with that "egg carton" foam material. The two ends of the box will be removed and the rifle will be positioned so the tip of the barrel is inside the box. In theory, the box will absorb the majority of the sound.

Does anyone have any experience or ideas on this? I thought I'd get the opinions of others before I begin construction.
I could wear earplugs. The real reason is that the noise terrifies my dog upstairs. I just want to keep the noise down without going through the expense and legal wranglings of obtaining the type of silencer that attaches to the weapon.

Don't worry. This twelve year old is fictional. This is for a story. The 12-yr old is an assassin/bounty hunter/vigilante train to stalk criminals and kill them for profit (Jail, never works). She's been train to do this since age four. She was raised in solitude, a bit socially challenged.

Her first firearm was a Glock-19, which she stole from a cop. Which her teacher said was pretty useless, there are lots more powerful guns than that.

I chose the the

-Star 30M
-Star Firestar.

I'm trying to find a gun for her. A gun so dangerous, even YOU guys wouldn't DARE use such a thing.

-It has to be a pistol, NO Rifles.
-It has to look really cool.
-No cowboy-like guns.
-No old obsolete guns.

After you give me as many guns models as you can. Give me some information on it. Like, it's capacity. How often it was used.

REMEMBER: It has to be good enough for assasination. It doesn't have to be a silencer.

The answerer with the best looking or coolest gun ever will get ten points.

Again: This character is FICTION.

It's for a novel and if you want to read it. Contact chimchar@gmail.com.

She will shoot a guy in the nuts, for interrogation purposes. The most pleasurable way to gather information.

www.fastfire.biz had an ad in the back of a magazine of Shotgun News i picked up the other day, advertising that they sold a wide variety of full auto guns chambered in .25acp (like a Browning Baby would use) that apparently would be mailed to the door of anyone over 18 years old, no licensing needed. I looked through their site, and at first it looked like this was gonna be just airsoft guns, but it doesn't mention airsoft anywhere, only .25 (and .25acp specifically in a few places) which is not airsoft caliber. So am i to understand this site would allow an 18 year old to order a full auto .25acp UZI with silencer for $100 after you add ammo, and legally do whatever they want with it? I mean sure .25acp is not a very lethal round, about like a .22short, but still, an automatic firearm is still an automatic firearm, so how is this not a huge federal crime to be selling automatic handguns to people under 21 with no FFL license requirement on the shipping?
Why did i post this in hunting? Well i've tried posting gun questions in general outdoors with very little result compared to the hunting section (where all the gun guys browse). I admit i believe the Hunting section should be just hunting, but i also believe it is the most appropriate area currently for gun questions, until they create a seperate "shooting sports" group in outdoors for something to cover target shooting, paintball and airsoft, and everything else that currently has to answer under Hunting although it really shouldn't.

What states within USA permit legal ownership of a mail order
Silencer that fits AR-15? The commercial touting said the noise reduction was equal to noise of a twenty-two caliber.
Georgia address had no Internet listing.
Snail mail & 'phone advet' listings only.
Marketing provided no sales restrictions.

I have some rifles that i enjoy shooting in my rural Iowa backyard, as well as in the near future planning on getting a Tactical USP45 handgun, which already comes with a threaded-end barrel and raised sights, ready for a supressor. I had always dismissed the supressors i'd seen in gun magazines or on gun auction sites, assuming you would need to have an FFL to posess one (i understand though that anything like that will need to be shipped to an FFL, i have a friend with one for that) but lately on here i have seen people talk as though a simple $200 tax stamp allowed a 22 year old USA citizen such as my clean-criminal-record self to then purchase a professionaly built silencer/supressor for my firearms (most likely just the USP to start) since while i always use hearing protection, it would be nice if i didn't HAVE to (bad ear though mandates it with anything louder than .22LR).

So where would i start in trying to facilitate my owning a silencer? And i'm not building one! Naughty!
And yes i understand that the effects are not anything like hollywood portrays, but i'm just saying that if there was a way i could have a silenced USP45 that allowed me to shoot in my yard (i have enough room to set up some cardboard targets for a tactical course, i know of some people in town who are really into this stuff also). I have a weak left eardrum that pops for a few hours if i shoot anything from a .38sp or .223rem or larger, so if i could reduce my .223 or a .45acp to being a sound closer to that of a .22LR or .17HMR, then i can safely fire without hearing protection.
I'm not going to be heartbroken if this is a next-to-impossible kind of thing, where if i'd be better off trying to get an FFL license first is the amount of work it takes, i can just settle with not having one. I primarily just want it for putting on the Tactical USP45 for the sake of it then being more unique, cool, and more of a militaria sort of thing in regards to collecting guns. Like how it's cool to have a bayonet for a gun you probably would only use for hunting deer (like a G3 .308)

I need help finding information on laws regarding Paint-ball in Ohio. Is it illegal to make a silencer (handmade) for your Paint-ball gun? Is a Paint-ball gun considered a Firearm in Ohio? Where can you legally play? What are the consequences for actions related, such as accidentally shooting someone who's not playing or harming someones property? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Also, does it have this effect in Crysis? :P

I was wondering because the ammo is very small and its not very loud. when you put a silencer on the gun it sounds more like a pellet gun than a real gun.

Apparently Evil Dick from Big Brother 8 US was arrested in 1995 because of "Unlawful possession of a Firearm Silencer".

Why do you think he had a firearm silencer? why would somebody need that?

I know how to make a firearm silencer, or suppressor, out of a water bottle!!

I asked if they shouldn't be legal but alot if ignorant people had no good points, so thats what this question is for. So if you know nothing about guns and have nothing intelligent to say don't say anything because this question is not for you.

I worked for the C.I.A. for 5 years and have a class 3 permit for the rest of my life. I also legally have a fully automatic silenced AK-47 compliments of you tax payers, and its never been used for anything criminal. So dont make your point be that they're for assassination. So now that I'm a civilian whats the reason for me to not be able to keep it.

Remember idiots since your gonna answer anyway silencers dont make the gun anymore deadly
I know they are legal with a class 3 permit, I have one!
Just. M. one comment why should we only be able to defend ourselves inside our own homes? its much more dangerous on the street. For example the only time I had to use a gun inside the United States was on the street when crack head decided he wanted to try to rob me. He backed up when I pulled it on him, If I didn't have it he might have attacked me and ended up dead with a broken neck. But if I were untrained in martial arts It could have been me hurt
Example of the idiots who will answer anyway.

Number 1, you are in NO WAY a former CIA agent because your manner of talking is that of a 15 year old BOY and not an intelligent WELL EDUCATED MAN..... Number 2, even IF our government was stupid enough to hire a man who SOUNDS LIKE YOU, you would KNOW the answer to this question without even ASKING it. Oh and I'm NO idiot but YOU sound like one.... good NIGHT little boy..... I'm probably old enough to be your GRANDMOTHER and a former CIA agent would have respect for people and not call them idiots .... so you lose on a number of points here..

I KNOW THE ANSWER I JUST WANT TO HEAR OPINIONS. and ps we laugh and make fun of you civilians ALL OF THE TIME. sorry you senile old lady that you couldn't see how obvious that is.

There is also a big difference between an agent and an operative

But still restricted from felons and people who are prohibited frome owning a firearms already
Please dont reply if your an idiot. If you have ever shot a gun you know how loud it is and if you wear earplugs everything else is harded to hear too.
I know about the class III permit i'm saying we should have them without needing one. and if I were a serial killer Ide just make a silencer you idiots

I live in Colorado and there is a particular outdoor range I like to frequent from time to time to shoot my black powder rifle. I called them once to see what their hours of operations were due to a snow storm we had recently, and I got a recording. The recording said the usual stuff, you know "thank you for calling. we are open from 9am-7pm. " (Here's the kicker)..."Coming April 2006 we will be allowing fully automatic and silenced firearms on our ranges."

It was my understanding that possessing a fully automatic weapon or a silencer for any type of firearm was only permitted for military Personnel and a select number of law enforcement agents, but totally against the law for any civilian to possess such items.

Can someone please clarify this point for me. Thanks
